Silvia Márquez Pease is the founder and executive creative director at Studio1231. She is a professor of design for social change at the Department of Art and Art History, Florida International University. At Studio1231, Pease leads a wide variety of strategic projects in sustainable design. Studio1231 aims to connect people and ideas in a global community.

Prior to Studio 1231, Silvia was a founder-partner and creative director of Carregal Pease, an international multidisciplinary design firm; and, founder and creative director of Pease Design. She led hybrid creative projects for Guggenheim Partners in NYC, Miami, and Switzerland; Pinta Art Fair in New York, and London; Publicitas; the Mc. Donald Foundation; American Express Latin America; Lufthansa Cargo; Corpevents; Varta Batteries; and Reader’s Digest Latin America. Pease was the Senior Vice President of Global Branding & Marketing at IDGMI Technologies. 

Silvia Pease is a very active member at AIGA and served as the Chair of Education at the American Institute of Graphic Arts. She studied poster and typography design with Swiss Bauhaus designers at Schule für Gestaltung in Basel. She holds a PhD in Philosophy, Aesthetics, and Art Theory from IDSVA, Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts, an M.F.A. in multimedia design, and a B.F.A. in Design, both from the University of Miami.  For more interdisciplinary artwork please visit www.silviapease.com
